Q: What is the difference between TYR’s silicone swimming caps and latex and cloth swimming caps? How should I choose?
A: The choice depends on your daily swimming habits: Silicone Cap is currently the most popular style. It has excellent waterproofness, chlorine resistance and durability. It is extremely elastic and does not pull hair easily. It can effectively protect hair from damage by chemicals in pool water. Although cloth or coated swimming caps are the most comfortable to wear and do not strangle your head, they are not waterproof at all. If you are training at a high frequency or seeking to reduce water resistance, TYR 100% medical grade silicone swim cap is recommended.
Q: Is a TYR swimming cap suitable for swimmers with long or thick hair? Will it slip off easily?
A: Suitable. TYR silicone swimming cap has excellent stretchability and anti-slip lining design. Female swimmers with long hair are advised to tie their hair into a low ponytail or bun, open the swimming cap with both hands and cover the entire head from the front edge of the forehead back. The highly elastic edges of the TYR swim cap can securely wrap your hair, ensuring that the cap still fits perfectly without slipping when turning around or swimming vigorously in the water.
Q: How should I care for my silicone swimming cap after swimming so that it won’t stick together or become moldy?
A: After each swim, be sure to rinse away the chlorine and sweat on the surface with clean water. After washing, open the inside of the swimming cap and hang it upside down in a cool place to dry. Do not expose it directly to sunlight, otherwise the silicone will easily become brittle and deteriorate. When the swimming cap is completely dry, you can lightly apply a little dry talcum powder on the inside of the swimming cap. This can effectively prevent the silicone from sticking together due to long-term storage, prevent moisture and mold, and greatly extend the life of the swimming cap.
